‘Deity’ - Synopsis
Synopsis:
Peter Egli, the Swiss CEO of VedaLogic, envisions new applications for artificial intelligence that will solve humanity’s most vexing problems. A Buddhist monastery and a doctorate in mathematics from Princeton shape his mind for a broad scientific search that leads to a significant discovery of how the quantum field, evolution and the human mind are connected. It provides the secret key to super-computer technology destined to prove Quantum Field Theory, bring peace to Palestine and reveal God’s divine plan. Once a genius with unlimited resources assembles a select group of Jewish scientists in Israel, a discovery that will change the course of human history is the most probable
outcome.
Peter’s private life strangely intertwines with recurring patterns of religious intolerance. Islamic terror that, out of context, seems like madness is revealed to be the Dharma, the invisible truth. While the slightest flutter of butterfly wings in the Amazon Delta can change the weather in Chicago, it takes senseless murder, bombs in Jerusalem and the tumbling of the Word Trade Center to change Peter Egli.
Deity is the story of a brilliant man who is not willing to accept second-hand knowledge from scripture as a satisfactory explanation for our human existence. The ultimate answer he finds to our questions is not the one he was looking for.
